About the Greenway

The Greenway is a circular route that surrounds the Garden City estate allowing you to discover the countryside without ever straying far from the town; it truly is ‘where town and country meet’.

With 13.6 miles (21.8 km) of beautiful countryside, the Garden City Greenway provides a perfect setting for a range of outdoor activities. A variety of routes, open spaces and points of interest makes the Greenway an ideal retreat for people of all ages.

The Greenway was a one million pound project funded by the Heritage Foundation, to act as a permanent commemoration of Letchworth Garden City’s first centenary in 2003.
